A leading Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company in Indonesia developed an integrated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) management system to improve transparency and efficiency in managing distributor performance. Through this platform, distributors can independently monitor their performance achievements while also submitting incentive claims based on their results.
In a dynamic distribution industry, monitoring distributor performance plays a critical role in ensuring business targets are achieved. However, data collection and KPI calculations are often still carried out manually and involve multiple disconnected data sources. This condition can slow down performance evaluation processes and increase the risk of errors in incentive calculations.
Through the new platform, distributor performance data can be updated on a daily basis, providing clearer visibility into their performance. Distributors no longer need to wait for manual reports to understand their results.
In addition to monitoring performance, distributors can also submit incentive claims directly through a system equipped with an automated approval workflow. If discrepancies or inconsistencies in incentive values occur, distributors can submit tickets and attach supporting documents through the available feedback feature.
This approach not only improves transparency but also accelerates administrative processes that previously required significant manual intervention.
To support a faster and more efficient system, the solution leverages a combination of automation technology and modern application development platforms.
Daily data extraction and processing are automated using UiPath Robotic Process Automation (RPA), enabling data from multiple sources to be consolidated without manual intervention. Meanwhile, the web application for distributors and internal teams is developed using the OutSystems Low-Code Platform, allowing faster application development while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing business requirements.
In addition, the platform is supported by Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure more stable, secure, and scalable data integration.
The implementation of this solution brings together three key technologies within a single digital ecosystem: UiPath for process automation, OutSystems as the low-code application development platform, and Microsoft Azure as the cloud infrastructure supporting system scalability and security.
This technology combination enables the company to build a platform that is not only efficient and faster to develop but also capable of adapting to dynamic business needs.
The implementation of this integrated KPI system delivers several operational benefits, including:
With a more transparent and automated system, the relationship between the company and its distributors also becomes more collaborative, as both parties share the same visibility into performance data.
The project was prepared for implementation within a relatively short period of time. This rapid development was made possible by leveraging OutSystems Low-Code Platform and UiPath RPA, enabling the project team to build the platform more efficiently without compromising solution quality.
Beyond being an important step in the digital transformation of distributor management, this implementation also demonstrates how the integration of UiPath, OutSystems, and Microsoft Azure can deliver a more adaptive and scalable business solution.
Moving forward, this approach opens opportunities for companies to continue developing digital innovations that support operational efficiency while enhancing the experience of business partners within the distribution ecosystem.
