Jakarta, April 23, 2025 — PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk (“Metrodata”) marks a major milestone as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025. Five decades is more than just a number — it is a testament to Metrodata’s resilience, ability to continuously transform, innovate, and play an active role in driving technological advancement in Indonesia.
To commemorate this special occasion, Metrodata presents a reflective and inspiring work: a book titled “Gajah Tidur yang Terbangun, 50 Tahun Inovasi Digital Metrodata”, honoring the company’s long journey and significant contributions to shaping Indonesia’s digital landscape.
The book is not merely a historical narrative, but also a profound reflection on the dynamics, challenges, and milestones that have shaped Metrodata’s identity, vision, and endurance as a pioneer of digital transformation in Indonesia. Through inspiring stories from key figures and the documentation of pivotal events, the book offers valuable insights for anyone seeking to understand how resilience, innovation, and collaboration can serve as the foundation for the sustainability of a technology company.
The book is now available at Gramedia bookstores and via the Gramedia app.
Accompanying the book’s release, Metrodata has also launched a documentary film, available on Metrodata’s official YouTube channel. This film captures Metrodata’s journey across time and generations—featuring testimonials, reflections, and insights from key individuals who have played vital roles in the company’s transformation and achievements. The documentary is open to the public and will be accessible starting April 25, 2025, coinciding with Metrodata’s 50th anniversary, as a visual archive of five decades of innovation.
In addition, as part of the Digitalizing Indonesia initiative, Metrodata Academy is organizing a national competition for university students across Indonesia, focusing on the themes of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. This initiative aims to encourage innovation and creativity among students in addressing the challenges of digital technology, with awards in the form of notebooks and printers presented to participants with the best ideas and creations.
Established in 1975, Metrodata began its business by selling continuous forms and punched cards, and has since evolved into a pioneer in Indonesia’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry. Over the past five decades, Metrodata has consistently accelerated technology adoption, built a robust digital ecosystem, and delivered end-to-end solutions for a variety of industry sectors through its eight pillars of service: Cloud Services, Business Application, Digital Business Platform, Data & AI, Cybersecurity, Hybrid IT Infrastructure, Consulting & Advisory Services, and Managed Services.
Metrodata’s history reflects a strong and continuous innovation DNA. From the outset, Metrodata has not only been an early adopter of technology but also an active driver of digital transformation among Indonesian corporations.
Innovation is not merely a business strategy—it is the common thread that guides every step, shapes every decision, and supports the company’s long-standing journey.
“Over the past five decades, Metrodata has not only grown, but also emerged as a catalyst for Indonesia’s digital transformation. Innovation is the thread that ties our journey together, from our beginnings as a hardware distributor to becoming a strategic partner in end-to-end digital solutions. This 50th anniversary is a stepping stone to continue creating value, expanding our impact, and upholding our commitment as a pioneer of inclusive and sustainable digital transformation in Indonesia,” said Susanto Djaja, President Director of PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk.
Throughout its journey, Metrodata has grown not only organically through technology distribution and service expansion, but also inorganically through joint ventures and acquisitions. This integrated approach has strengthened Metrodata’s position amid the fast-evolving industry landscape and opened new avenues for collaboration with both global and local partners.
Metrodata remains committed to being a central force in the realization of Indonesia’s digital economy. Fueled by a constant spirit of innovation and grounded in its core values—Integrity, Professionalism, and Entrepreneurship (IPE)—Metrodata is ready to enter the next decade as a strategic partner and leading provider of relevant, impactful, and sustainable digital solutions
