MTDL Anticipates Increased Demand in ICT Industry This Year

Driving the Industry 4.0 Adoption in the Manufacturing Sector

Jakarta, January 26th, 2025 — Seeing the era of digitalization in various industrial sectors continues to grow, PT Metrodata Electronics, Tbk (MTDL) is ready to anticipate the increase in demand this year. Based on data from International Data Corporation (IDC), Canalys, and Counterpoint reported that he global PC market is experiencing a significant surge thanks to the integration of AI technology. AI PCs are predicted to account for 60% of shipments by 2025, up from 27% in 2024. This trend is driven by increasing demand from the enterprise segment, the end of Windows 10 support in October 2025, as well as a push from chip vendors.

"It is clear that the industry in the digitalization era is developing much faster than in previous eras. Therefore, MTDL must also be able to adapt and move quickly in order to anticipate every development in the ICT industry," said MTDL President Director, Susanto Djaja.

According to information from the Ministry of Industry's, The government itself has launched 'Making Indonesia 4.0' in 2018 to encourage digitalization of manufacturing and increase global competitiveness. The target is for Indonesia to enter the 10 largest economies in the world by 2030 through exports, productivity, and R&D investment. The transformation process towards industry 4.0 is supported by various technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and robotics to create an efficient production system. In this case, the government has set seven main sectors, including automotive, textiles, and pharmaceuticals as priorities with AI as the key to industrial automation.

Regarding the government program, Metrodata, has helped many industries adopt the application of the latest technology from various aspects, be it providing hardware, software, implementation of IT Solutions and Consulting, and provision of IT workers who are updated with the latest technology.
